10 Years and still they can’t make useful error reports…

Back in the days that Microsoft Window NT 4.0 and Exchange 5.5 was the best Microsoft had to offer I encountered an error from exchange. I always did have a screenshot lying around but I can't find it right now. The error said the following: 'The pop3 service failed to start because of the following error: The operation completed succesfully.

Now, about 10 years later, after my colleague installed Windows 2003 R2 with exchange 2003 we encountered the following errors:

I don't get it... is this bug so hard to fix? Is it to hard to create useful error messages? Or does microsoft really have incompetent developers on the payroll... (tho... most likely they are more skilled at programming than I am...)
